S&P 500 and Nasdaq Hit Records After Jobs Beat
U.S. stocks rose Thursday on a strong June jobs report, with nonfarm payrolls up 147,000 vs. 110,000 expected and unemployment falling to 4.1%. The S&P 500 closed at 6,279.35 (+0.83%) and Nasdaq at 20,601.10 (+1.02%), both setting new highs. Rate cut odds fell sharply.
Analysts Boost Targets on Nvidia, AI Data Center Stocks
Mizuho raised price targets on Nvidia, AMD, ARM, and others ahead of Q2 earnings. Nvidia's target rose to 185 from 170, with strong H2 growth expected from Blackwell chips. Nvidia closed up 1.3% at 159.34. Deutsche Bank and Rosenblatt also named new chip stock picks.
