Tempur Sealy Sells 176 Stores to Facilitate Mattress Firm Takeover
Tempur Sealy International plans to sell 73 Mattress Firm stores and its 103 Sleep Outfitters locations to Mattress Warehouse as part of its $4 billion acquisition of Mattress Firm, which the FTC is challenging. This move is intended to satisfy the FTC's concerns about competition and pricing.
Hearings on the acquisition are set to begin on November 12, 2024, and Tempur Sealy hopes to finalize the deal by late 2024 or early 2025. Despite the challenges, Tempur Sealy will keep selling its products to the stores they are selling.
